Over 10-12 weeks, you will work closely with a team of experienced engineers and consultants on civil engineering analysis, design, field inspections, report writing, permit applications, and site drainage and grading design work while gaining hands‑on experience in the field. You will support work within project budgets, collaborate with cross‑functional teams to meet project goals and client expectations, and contribute to municipal and environmental projects across the region. At a Glance Location: Burlington, MA Ownership: 100% employee‑owned (ESOP) Work Schedule: full‑time in office, 10‑12 week summer program What You’ll Do Assist with civil engineering analysis, design, field inspections, report writing, permit applications, and site drainage and grading design work Support design portions of projects according to code and standards Research commercially available equipment and project resources Help maintain client relations, project design notebooks, and permanent record documentation Coordinate design and schedule information with architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical, technology, clerical, and equipment-supplier partners Document design decisions, meetings, and client instructions while monitoring project design progress Review project documents for accuracy and completeness before final check Assist with preparation and issuance of addendum information Conduct periodic job site observations and other services required by the contract services agreement Work within project budgets and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to meet project goals and client expectations What You’ll Bring (Required) Completed at least 2 years towards a Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Civil Engineering, or equivalent required May be required to assist with field duties such as surveying and materials testing Skill in the use of Microsoft Office programs, CAD software and BIM Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups Preferred Prior internship experience in the building design consulting industry preferred About the Team New England civil team serving New Hampshire and Massachusetts from Nashua and Burlington Sewer rehabilitation, paving and safety improvements, and municipal infrastructure Site development for healthcare, residential, and commercial clients including National Grid ALTA, due diligence, and permitting across a broad market mix Recent work includes Nashua 2025 Sewer Rehabilitation, Government; Southern NH Medical Center Parking, Healthcare; and Concord MA Paving & Safety, Transportation We put people at the center of who we are, creating positive outcomes for people, communities, and our planet.
