Research Project Coordinator

Summary Under the general supervision of the Principal Investigator(s) and in accordance with established policies and procedures, the Project Coordinator coordinates all research projects conducted by the PI(s) in this department. Responsibilities include scheduling, coordination and implementation of programs or services, and developing and maintaining key performance indicators covering finance, quality, and productivity. Depending on departmental priorities, the Coordinator may assume a leadership role to ensure the successful completion of projects. Responsibilities Supervise non-MD/PhD research staff, assign tasks to research assistants and volunteers, coordinate work schedules, and ensure completion of required trainings. Monitor staff adherence to procedures and protocols, and meet regularly with the project team to guarantee timely completion of study-related tasks. Oversee study recruitment flow and collaborate with local advertising outlets to secure dates and costs. Assist Principal Investigators with study design, data management, and analytical planning, as well as tabulating and reviewing data for publication. Assist in budgeting and financial account management in accordance with hospital guidelines and sponsoring agency policies. Develop and maintain study regulatory binders and manage all required submissions related to protocols. Ensure full compliance with IRB requirements. Establish, maintain, and supervise data collection and quality assurance procedures to meet protocol standards and timelines. Prepare research progress reports and manage required paperwork. Act as a liaison to researchers at other study sites collaborating on studies with the Principal Investigator(s). Maintain professional expertise through educational opportunities and literature review. Assist in managing and maintaining the program website and shared file server. Communicate with property management regarding work environment or office issues. Screen individuals interested in participating in the program’s studies and evaluation services. Perform related tasks as necessary. Minimum Qualifications Previous research experience highly recommended. Advanced competence in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; familiarity with SPSS and/or SAS is a plus. Ability to work independently and within a team-oriented, collaborative environment. Creative thinker with strong troubleshooting skills. Excellent interpersonal skills with initiative, judgment, and discretion. Ability to adapt to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities. Experience Bachelor’s degree in psychology or a related field. Master’s Degree is desirable. Two to three years of related experience in research. Work Environment and Physical Requirements Normal office environment. Independent Action Performs independently within the department’s policies and practices. Refers complex problems to the supervisor when clarification of policies is required. Supervisory Responsibility Oversight responsibilities for up to 3 FTEs.
