Buyer

Description Job Summary: The Buyer will handle the purchase of raw materials, tools, packaging materials, parts, services, and/or supplies, and ensure quality, delivery, and specification requirements at the lowest possible cost Supervisory Responsibilities: None Duties/Responsibilities: Issue all purchase orders for commodities within responsibility, and monitor open purchase orders within ERP system Verify that all orders have been properly acknowledged by the vendor, and follow up with the vendor on all past due orders Source products from reliable vendors, focusing on quality, delivery, and cost, and meeting material requirements/specifications Manage vendor relationships successfully by building strong partnerships, negotiating competitive terms, and tracking performance metrics to ensure timely delivery and high quality Track and maintain proper levels of stocked inventory Provide Account Management Team with reliable material quotes Initiate and implement process improvement initiatives for department Handle any material needs for other Monti Inc. sites that have been assigned to you Assist in the returning of Rejected material to the vendor Evaluate procurement data and monitor key supply chain metricsComplete other duties as assigned by manager. Required Skills/Abilities: Preferred 1-3 years minimum experience in a Buyer or similar Supply Chain role Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to cooperate with team members/leaders Strong people skills Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suites or related software Positive attitude, goal-oriented, and ability to work with minimal supervision Dependable, flexible, and ability to work in a fast paced, changing environment Ability to multi-task with excellent time management skills Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in material management, business management or work equivalent Engineering and/or manufacturing background helpful Physical Requirements: Uncontrolled environmental conditions: noise, dirt, dust, and mobile equipment Occasional lifting up to 15 lbs.
