Position: Certified Medical Assistant

Location: Waupun, WI 53963

Duration: 26 weeks (Possible extension)

Pay rate: $28/hr.

Setting: Correctional

Schedule: 06:30 AM - 3 pm, (M-F), no weekends or holidays

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations, treatments, and procedures.

• Obtain and document patient vital signs, medical histories, and health information.

• Prepare examination and treatment areas and ensure proper sanitation and infection control practices.

• Perform specimen collection, point-of-care testing, and other clinical procedures within scope of practice.

• Administer medications and treatments as permitted by state regulations and facility policies.

• Maintain accurate and timely medical records in electronic and/or paper health record systems.

• Schedule patient appointments and coordinate healthcare services as directed.

• Monitor and stock medical supplies, equipment, and pharmaceuticals.

• Assist with intake screenings, health assessments, and chronic care clinics.

• Respond appropriately to medical emergencies and assist healthcare staff during emergencies.

• Perform other duties as assigned to support facility healthcare operations.

Qualifications

• Previous correctional, behavioral health, public health, or community health experience is strongly preferred

• Experience working with electronic medical records (EMR/EHR).

• Active Certified Medical Assistant certification.

• Active BLS/CPR certification.
