Qualifications:

• Current New Mexico teaching certificate in Special Education required
• Strong understanding of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA)
• Proven ability to develop, review, and monitor IEPs
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Experience integrating students into mainstream classes is highly valued

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage the special education process from identification to placement
• Develop, organize, and complete thorough evaluation reports and IEPs for all students on your caseload
• Ensure all documentation meets compliance with district, state, and federal guidelines
• Monitor new student evaluations to ensure proper placement and timely programming
• Collaborate with principals, department heads, and team members to support the integration of all students into regular classes where appropriate
• Identify compliance needs within the program and work to develop and implement solutions
