HVAC Mechanic III-Atlantic Health Chilton Medical Center Pompton Plains, NJ, United States Job Description Responsible for installing, servicing, and repairing heating, ventilating, air conditioning systems, and related environmental-control systems utilizing knowledge of heating and refrigeration theory, pipefitting, and structural layout. Principal Accountabilities Perform routine maintenance on HVAC and refrigeration systems, including filters, belts, motors and coils. Install new HVAC equipment and ductwork following specifications and building codes. Perform air and water balancing of HVAC systems to ensure proper distribution. Maintain proper temperature, humidity and air changes in the ORs, isolation rooms, labs, pharmacies and clean rooms. Troubleshoot HVAC equipment, including thermostats, air handlers, exhaust systems and split systems. Monitor HVAC systems and report alarms or irregularities to shop supervisor. Interpret blueprints, technical drawings and job specifications for HVAC work. Act as a functional mentor to lower-level team members; possess advanced knowledge of function/family and department. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Required Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent. 7+ years experience in HVAC or relevant area. Universal EPA Certification. Preferred Qualifications Completion of HVAC School. Refrigeration Certification.
