J-113 Press Brake Operator

Position Details Location: FABCORP - HOUSTON, TX 77040 Position Type: Full Time (Hourly non-exempt) Education Level: None Travel Percentage: None Job Shift: Day Job Category: Manufacturing Job Title: Press Brake Operator Reports to: Leadman Job Summary Responsible for operating press break on machine. Fits and fabricates structural steel, completes layout, and inspects finished product. Key Responsibilities Operate press break machine. Run bend and forming operations using standard and custom punches. Use a CNC controller to input information into machine. Adjust ram and back gauge locations per process control instructions and blueprints. Check height, depth and thickness using micrometers, dial indicators, calipers, gauges and other precision‑measuring instruments. Perform complex programming using all features of the press brake. Work with tight tolerances. Produce parts for assembly operations. Meet customer specifications and delivery requirements. Program the CNC to produce new parts meeting specifications. Perform spot inspections of parts. Perform all required routine and minor maintenance activities according to procedures. Complete and maintain paperwork. Identify assembly parts. Set up light gauge metal. Configure bend allowances for sheet metal (stainless, aluminum & regular steel). Check machine for defects and repair if necessary. Ensure machine is calibrated and cleaned. Read drawings and blueprints. Perform general daily maintenance on equipment. Operate forklifts. Upkeep and cleanliness of work areas. Follow company safety & security guidelines. Attendance and punctuality are essential functions of this job. Other duties as needed. Qualifications 2 years previous experience. On the job training to be provided for all assigned responsibilities. Physical Demands Employee may be required to do the following: climbing into and out of equipment; reaching in all directions, handling and manipulating objects and materials; coordinating the movements of eyes, hands, fingers and feet to operate tools and equipment; lifting up to 50 pounds from ground level, waist level, and/or overhead; carrying objects, tools, equipment, etc.; standing; sitting; walking; pushing; pulling; bending; kneeling; crouching/squatting; crawling; seeing with or without correction; hearing with or without correction. The employee is frequently required to sit while performing the duties of this job (approx. 70%) walk (30%) stand (0%). The employee is expected to lift or move materials (5% of workday) Mental Demands Employee may be required to do the following: following set procedures and standards; applying basic mathematical skills; planning work and selecting proper tools; reading and interpreting information; judging distances and accurately; following oral and/or written directions; reading; writing; ability to recognize and report safety hazards.
