Senior CNC Setup Technician – Multi-Axis Aluminum Machining (3rd Shift)Up to $41.00/hr ($85,280/yr) • Cedarburg, WI Area • 3rd Shift • Direct-Hire / Full-TimeCompensation & Earnings: Starting pay up to $41.00/hr ($85,280/yr baseline depending on experience), pay-for-performance bonus opportunities, 401(k) with company match, and full health/dental/vision benefits.Schedule & Work-Life Balance: Dedicated 3rd shift schedule with opportunities to earn additional hours of bonus PTO per year for strong attendance.Work Environment & Company Profile: Join one of the largest independent die casting manufacturers in North America featuring exceptional stability, 40% employee tenure over 10+ years, and premier tier-one OEM partnerships.Core Functional Scope: Lead CNC setup, program loading, tool offsets, and troubleshooting on multi-axis machining centers processing high-precision aluminum castings.Strict Requirements & Authorization: Strict job stability required (minimum 2+ years per employer); hands-on CNC setup or editing experience; precision measurement skills; local commute within 45 minutes of Cedarburg, WI; U.S. work authorization.What You Will Be Doing (Daily Responsibilities)Set Up & Operate CNC Equipment: Perform setups and changeovers on multi-axis CNC mills and lathes used to finish high-precision aluminum die cast components.Manage Programs & Offsets: Load G-code programs, adjust tool offsets, and make real-time process modifications to ensure tight part tolerances.Troubleshoot Quality & Tooling: Diagnose surface finish defects, dimensional variations, and chatter caused by tool wear, fixture misalignment, or material inconsistencies.Perform Quality Inspections: Measure finished parts using calipers, micrometers, height gages, depth indicators, and CMM inspection reports.Execute Tooling Maintenance: Replace worn cutting tools, carbide inserts, drills, and taps while monitoring tool life to prevent scrap and downtime.Conduct Preventative Maintenance: Support routine daily machine care, coolant fluid management, and basic mechanical troubleshooting.Maintain Process Records: Log production counts, quality control metrics, tool wear records, and setup adjustments accurately.What We Are Looking For (Requirements & Qualifications)Job Stability Required: Demonstrated career stability with a strict requirement of at least 2+ years of tenure at each previous employer.CNC Machining Experience: Proven hands-on experience setting up, operating, and troubleshooting CNC machining centers in a production environment (aluminum machining or casting experience preferred).Technical Blueprint & Measurement Skills: Ability to read blueprints, interpret engineering drawings, and proficiently use precision hand inspection tools.Commutable Radius: Must reside within a 45-minute maximum commute of the Cedarburg / Greater Milwaukee, WI area.Education & Authorization: High School Diploma or GED required; technical/vocational machining credentials preferred.
