The Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) is an organization of approximately 2,000 personnel, with 700 serving at HQ and the remainder at offices worldwide. NCIS is the DON component with primary responsibility for criminal investigation, law enforcement (LE), counterterrorism (CT), counterintelligence (CI), and cyber matters. It also holds exclusive investigative jurisdiction in non‑combat matters involving criminal, terrorism, sabotage, espionage, and subversive activities. Responsibilities Lead the Operations Team; manage staff time and administrative tasks. Implement STIG releases across various operating systems and applications. Track and remediate IAVM vulnerabilities. Manage ACAS vulnerability reports and remediate as required. Perform software upgrades, patch installs, and firmware upgrades. Diagnose and troubleshoot problems related to the OS, hardware, network, and related software. Maintain daily written and oral communications with coworkers and leadership. Continually attend to periodic SCAP and STIG requirements needed to harden the servers. Troubleshoot and configure servers in a virtual environment using vSphere. Create scripts in various shells to automate daily and periodic tasks. Document work for leadership, update/create Standard Operating Procedures, and brief staff and customers on various tasks. Qualifications 5+ years of experience with systems administration. DoW system accreditation process experience. STIG checklist review process, including SCAP scans and implementation. Microsoft SCCM package creation and deployment. Group Policy Management administration, including policy creation and maintenance. Familiarity with Windows Server 2019 and Windows 10, including deployment via SCCM or standalone options. Improving system operations, functionality, monitoring, and optimization of servers and workstations. Previous exposure with VMware virtual environments versions 7.x and 8.x. Familiarity with Cisco UCS and Cisco Hx Systems. Experience with NETAPP SAN Systems and PureStorage. CompTIA Security+ CE certification. BS degree or equivalent in Computer Science or IT related field. Active TS/SCI clearance (or Top Secret with SCI eligibility). Location: Hybrid – 3 days onsite at Quantico, VA / 2 days remote.
