Registered Dietitian

Pre-Registered DietitianPosition exists in the Dietetics department of Porterville Developmental Center (PDC). Under direct supervision of a registered dietitian, the incumbent assists in the development and implementation of medical nutritional therapy for clients or patients in PDC facility and performs other related work. The classification of Pre-Registered Dietitian is a temporary appointment classification used for recruitment of professional dietitians. All appointments in this class are made on a temporary basis and are not to exceed six months. Incumbents, upon becoming registered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the American Dietetic Association, will then become eligible for appointment to the class of Registered Dietitian.Effective July 1, 2025, state employees are subject to a salary reduction of three (3) percent in exchange for five (5) hours per month of the Personal Leave.This position is not eligible for telework, this position is in person only.Temporary state housing may be available for those relocating to fill hard to recruit positions.
