Department Supervisor

Position Summary Supervisor at the Houston Tarps location is responsible for overseeing daily operations with a strong focus on safety compliance, time management, inventory control, and workforce scheduling. This role ensures that production and warehouse activities are carried out efficiently, safely, and in alignment with company policies and performance standards. Key Responsibilities Enforce company safety policies and OSHA regulations at all times; conduct regular safety meetings, audits, and inspections; identify hazards and implement corrective actions; ensure proper use of PPE; report and investigate incidents, near misses, and injuries. Monitor productivity, assign tasks, reduce downtime, and track attendance to meet productivity targets and deadlines. Oversee inventory accuracy for tarps, materials, and supplies; conduct cycle counts and coordinate physical inventories; ensure proper receiving, storage, and issuing of materials. Create and manage employee schedules to meet operational demands; approve time‑off requests and manage coverage; train, coach, and develop team members; participate in hiring, onboarding, and disciplinary actions as needed. Lead by example, maintain a positive, professional work environment, communicate expectations clearly, provide performance feedback, and ensure company policies and procedures are consistently followed. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred. Minimum 2–5 years of supervisory experience in manufacturing, warehouse, or industrial operations. Strong knowledge of safety regulations and safe work practices. Experience with inventory systems and scheduling. Proven leadership, organizational, and problem‑solving skills. Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime if required. Proficient in basic computer applications (Excel, scheduling systems, inventory software). Physical & Work Requirements Ability to work in a warehouse or industrial environment; stand, walk, bend, and lift up to [XX] lbs; exposure to noise, machinery, and varying temperatures.
