Job Duties

• Read and interpret machining instructions from complex blueprints, part, and machine drawings.
• Set up all tooling, write, and execute complex programs.
• Operate and program a wide range of production work.
• Perform secondary operations such as stamping part numbers and deburring during machine cycle times.
• Inspect machine parts using micrometers and other measuring tools to ensure adherence to specifications.
• Conduct routine maintenance and quality audits within the machine shop department.
• Independently write programs as required.
• Assist in other areas and perform additional tasks as needed.

Education Requirements

High school diploma or GED required. Technical school, machining certificate, or CNC programming education preferred. High school diploma or equivalent required Technical certification or associate degree in machining, manufacturing, or related field preferred

Experience Requirements

Experience operating, setting up, or programming CNC machine tools. Ability to read blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications. Knowledge of precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, indicators, and gauges. Understanding of machining principles, tooling, feeds, speeds, and material properties. Strong attention to detail, mathematical ability, and commitment to quality workmanship. Proven experience as a CNC programmer or similar role Proficiency in G-code and CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360, SolidWorks) Strong understanding of machining processes (milling, turning, etc.) Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and GD&T Knowledge of tooling, materials, and cutting techniques Familiarity with quality control standards and measurement tools

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience with CNC mills, lathes, machining centers, or multi-axis equipment is preferred. Experience editing CNC programs, setting tooling offsets, and performing machine setups is beneficial. Familiarity with G-code, CAD/CAM software, Haas, Mazak, Okuma, Fanuc, or similar CNC controls is considered an asset. Individuals who demonstrate strong troubleshooting abilities, continuous learning, and commitment to precision manufacturing are well positioned for success as a CNC Programmer.

Physical Capabilities

Ability to stand, walk, bend, and work around machining equipment throughout the shift. Ability to lift materials, tooling, and components weighing up to 50 pounds. Manual dexterity to safely operate CNC machinery and precision measuring equipment. Ability to work safely around moving machinery while following established safety procedures.
