Advanced Medical Support AssistantThe Advanced Medical Support Assistant position provides clerical and administrative support to the patients and staff; this position is located in the Ambulatory Care Section in the Health Administration Service (HAS) at the West Palm Beach, Florida VA Medical Center. Advanced Medical Support Assistant duties consist of but are not limited to the following:Serve as the administrative subject matter expert within the patient care teamEnsure that all Consults and Scheduling practices are acted upon in accordance with National Directives Regulations and Standard Operating ProceduresDevelop and maintain effective and efficient communication with the patient and interdisciplinary care teamFacilitate and process secure messaging with the patient and care teamMonitor pre-appointment requirements to assure readiness for patient visit/procedure (e.g. x-ray, lab work)Obtain identifying information and determines the nature of the visit/callPerform administrative duties in support of provider panel management using various VHA databasesOrient medical staff to basic administrative policies and procedures dealing with outpatient scheduling and other administrative mattersWork Schedule: 6:30am-3:00pm, 7:00am-3:30pm, 7:30am-4:00pm, 8:00am-4:30pm, 8:30am-5:00pm, 9:00am-5:30pm, 9:30am-6:00pm, 10:00am-6:30pm, 3:30pm-12:00am, 11:30pm-8:00am to include weekend and holiday coverage.Relocation/Recruitment Incentives: Not authorized.Telework: Not AvailableVirtual: This is not a virtual position.Functional Statement: 40332F.Relocation/Recruitment Incentives: Not AuthorizedPermanent Change of Station (PCS): Not Authorized
