EAP On-site Clinician - Full-time - DMV Area (Licensed in Washington, DC OR Virginia)

Job Summary We are seeking an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) On‑site Clinician (Full‑time, DMV Area, licensed in Washington, DC OR Virginia) to join our growing team. Work schedule: 40 hours/week. Travel requirements: Must be willing to occasionally travel to make site visits throughout the state, with hours/location subject to change based on client needs. Approved transportation or lodging will be coordinated and reimbursed by Acentra Health. Job Responsibilities Work full time in a highly visible, on‑site government office environment, maintaining professionalism and appropriate boundaries at all times. Provide direct counseling, critical incident response services, training, psychoeducational presentations, and outreach services that create awareness of EAP services. Make referrals to treatment services where appropriate, ensuring a satisfactory client experience transitioning from EAP services to treatment services. Refer to community resources to support clients' well‑being and mental health. Comply with all clinical and professional protocols, processes, and Acentra Health policies. Understand the scope of EAP services and, as needed, communicate that scope to external parties, including clients, managers, and other support staff. Consult with Acentra Health supervisors concerning clinical case staffing and high‑risk cases. Maintain and manage a caseload of direct‑service counseling clients, maintaining case records in accordance with Acentra Health policies and practices. Create and manage productive and positive working relationships with local points of contact. Display excellent teamwork, communication, and collaboration with the supervisor, on‑site manager, account manager, and other Acentra Health staff. Work in collaboration with other internal and external stakeholders, always displaying professionalism. Using a consultative approach, establish effective relationships with clients and proactively collaborate on opportunities for product enhancement and optimization services to meet the client's specific needs. Exhibit excellent interpersonal and problem‑solving skills to retain and service our clients and the organization. Navigate frequent interactions with employees, managers, and leadership while safeguarding client privacy in a shared or public workspace. Maintain the security of areas, materials, and private information, including physical and virtual storage and filing. Maintain the professional demeanor with customers and co‑workers to represent Acentra Health's values and standards. Perform daily duties and undertake related projects in the area of expertise with minimal supervision. Demonstrate sound judgment and discretion in all verbal and nonverbal communications to prevent inadvertent disclosure of sensitive information. Adhere to all facility access, identification, and security protocols required by the client site. Strictly safeguard all protected health information (PHI) and personally identifiable information (PII) in accordance with HIPAA, federal privacy standards, and Acentra Health policies. Ensure physical security of client records and materials, including securing files, screening computer monitors, and preventing unauthorized access in an open or shared office setting. Maintain secure electronic practices, including logging out of systems when unattended, proper password management, and adherence to approved communication platforms only. Immediately report any suspected or actual privacy or security incidents in accordance with organizational and client specific protocols. May travel between client headquarters locations within 15 miles. Read, understand, and adhere to all corporate policies including policies related to HIPAA and its Privacy and Security Rules. Qualifications Required Qualifications/Experience: An active, unrestricted Independent License in the behavioral health field issued by at least one of the respective licensing boards in the DMV Area (Washington, DC OR Virginia). Accepted licensing authorities include: Washington, DC DC Health – Health & Regulation & Licensing Administration (HRLA) through specific professional boards: DC Board of Professional Counseling: LMFT - Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist; LPC - Licensed Professional Counselor. DC Board of Psychology: Psychologist (Health Services Psychology License). DC Board of Social Work: LICSW - Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker. Virginia Virginia Department of Health Professions (DHP) through specific professional boards: Virginia Board of Counseling: LMFT - Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist; LPC - Licensed Professional Counselor. Virginia Board of Psychology: LCP - Licensed Clinical Psychologist. Virginia Board of Social Work: LCSW - Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related field. 2+ years of professional experience in the EAP, mental health, substance abuse, or behavioral health field. 2+ years of counseling and training with the law enforcement, military, or veteran field. Ability to pass a federal security clearance for a non‑sensitive/high‑risk public trust position. Includes fingerprinting, a background investigation covering a seven‑year investigative scope, and a drug screening. Preferred Qualifications/Experience: Cultural competency in working with federal government clients. Experience facilitating training with managers, leaders, and employees. Experience working with law enforcement, the military, or the veteran population. Formal training in critical incident responses. Experience facilitating critical incident responses.
