Crossing Guard

The Bibb County School District is now accepting applications for Crossing Guard.

JOB SUMMARY:
Controls and monitors vehicular and pedestrian traffic at specified locations before and after school as assigned.


REPORTS TO:
Crossing Guard Coordinator(s); Deputy Chief of Campus Police; School Principal

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

1. High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
2. Criminal background check required.
3. Must have a desire to work with children.
4. Must be able to safely direct children and traffic.
5. Must be able to work in varying weather conditions.
6. Must have reliable transportation.
7. Must be able to effectively communicate.
8. Must be able to quickly respond to emergencies when necessary.
9. Some knowledge of traffic laws and the ability to use sound judgement.

SALARY/TERMS/BENEFITS:

1. 180 day work year; 3 hours per day
2. Salary Range: placement on the salary schedule is based on years of allowed related experience. The stated salary range reflects the opportunity for pay over the course of the employee's tenure.
