Job Title: Maintenance Helper Job Description

Join a growing liquid propane gas operation as a Maintenance Helper on the 2nd shift, supporting an experienced maintenance mechanic and production team. In this role, you assist with mechanical and basic electrical troubleshooting, help keep equipment running smoothly, and contribute to a safe, efficient facility.

• Assist the maintenance mechanic with troubleshooting mechanical issues on production equipment and conveyors.
• Support basic electrical troubleshooting under guidance, including identifying simple electrical faults.
• Read and interpret prints and basic technical documentation to help diagnose and resolve equipment problems.
• Perform general maintenance and repair tasks as directed, including work involving hydraulics, welding, fabrication, and construction-related repairs where applicable.
• Assist with preventive maintenance activities to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
• Collaborate with the production team to address equipment issues promptly and support smooth production operations.
• Work safely in an outdoor-like environment, following all safety procedures and using appropriate tools and equipment.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and properly handle tools, materials, and equipment.
• Be available for overtime on Fridays when needed to support production and maintenance demands.

• At least 1 year of mechanical experience in an industrial, construction, farming, or similar hands-on environment.
• Mechanical aptitude with the ability to learn equipment operation, maintenance, and repair procedures.
• Basic understanding of troubleshooting mechanical issues on production equipment and conveyors.
• Ability to assist with basic electrical troubleshooting under supervision.
• Ability to read and understand prints and simple technical documentation.
• Comfort working in a non-climate-controlled, outdoor-like environment, including exposure to cold winters and hot summers.
• Willingness to work 2nd shift (6:30 p.m. 4:30 a.m., Monday through Thursday) and overtime on Fridays when required.
• Strong teamwork skills and willingness to assist the production team as needed.
• Reliability and readiness to follow safety guidelines in a liquid propane gas facility.

• Entry-level maintenance or conveyor experience is beneficial but not required.
• Experience in construction or farming environments is helpful due to familiarity with similar weather and working conditions.
• Exposure to hydraulics, welding, fabrication, and general repair work is an advantage.
• Basic electrical understanding is a plus, though not mandatory.
• Experience as a maintenance technician or in a maintenance support role is an asset.
• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced production environment and work effectively within a small maintenance team.

You have the opportunity to learn directly from an experienced maintenance technician and steadily build your skills in a hands-on environment. The schedule offers a four-day workweek with Friday through Sunday off in most weeks, supporting work-life balance. You join a close-knit team where your contributions are visible and valued, and where you can grow your maintenance career in a stable, essential industry.

The role is based in a covered building where large doors remain open, creating an outdoor-like atmosphere. The facility is not climate controlled, so it is very cold in the winter and very hot in the summer, and you should be comfortable working in these conditions. You work on the 2nd shift from 6:30 p.m. to 4:30 a.m., Monday through Thursday, with overtime available on Fridays. The team consists of approximately 33 production workers and 2 maintenance technicians, offering a collaborative environment where maintenance and production work closely together. You will use standard maintenance tools and equipment, and attire should be appropriate for industrial work and varying temperatures.
