Senior Generation Development Manager (Richmond, Hybrid)

Job Summary The Senior Generation Development Manager is a leadership role responsible for the full lifecycle of battery energy storage system (BESS) projects. This includes acquisition negotiations, project development, permitting, governance, and communications with senior management. The role leads cross-functional teams to deliver projects on schedule and within budget. Responsibilities Lead development and acquisition activities for BESS projects. Negotiate project contracts and agreements. Plan, execute, monitor, control, and close projects. Conduct evaluation, analysis, due diligence, and pro forma financial modeling. Prepare regulatory filings and governance materials. Communicate project status to executive leadership and external stakeholders. Mentor team members in power generation development and acquisition. Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams: construction, operations, external affairs, public policy, legal, tax, accounting, environmental, risk management, treasury, investor relations, and financial analysis. Qualifications Minimum 8 years of experience in financial analysis, project management, contract negotiation, or project development. Expert knowledge of electric project development and energy markets, particularly renewable and BESS projects. Proficiency in evaluating and making investment recommendations based on pro forma financial statements. Experience leading commercial contract negotiations, acquisition/partnerships, and divestiture activities. Exceptional leadership and communication skills (oral, written, presentation, interpersonal). Strong analytical, strategic decision‑making, organizational, risk analysis, and project planning/execution skills. Ability to prioritize multiple key project efforts effectively. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Military veterans with ranks E‑5 to E‑9, WO‑1 to CW5, or 03‑06 are encouraged to apply. Education Requirements Bachelor’s degree preferred in Business Administration, Finance, Engineering, or a related science field. Master’s degree in Business, Finance, or an MBA is preferred.
