Physician AssistantUnder the supervision of staff physicians, the Physician Assistant will provide primary health care services as a member of a health care team comprised of hospital physicians, mid-level practitioners and nursing personnel. Primary responsibilities relate to management of health care for certain patients and families as assigned.FLSA ExemptReports To: Chief Operating OfficerJob Type: Full-timeLocation: Franciscan South Campus in Indianapolis, IndianaPosition Schedule & EnvironmentCRSM – Indianapolis position working in Pulmonary Critical Care with a traditional schedule:7A – 5P daytime shiftPulmonary Critical Care at Franciscan South Campus, Indy Location7 days on / 7 days offSummary of DutiesPerformance of health assessments, including a thorough history and physical examination, ordering or performing certain diagnostic tests, evaluation of the psychosocial and family aspects of the situation sufficient to make a general health assessment, and diagnose the nature of common acute and chronic conditions.Referral of complex and high-priority cases to the physician on duty regarding complicated diagnostic problems, serious illness, complicated therapeutic problems, re-evaluation of chronic conditions, etc.Instructs patient and family regarding medications and treatment. Provides patient education.Triages calls from nursing staff regarding patient issues.Completes all documentation requirements into the EMR system.Performs other duties as assigned.RequirementsQualificationsCurrent Indiana license to practice the duties of a Physician AssistantCertification in BLS and ACLSAcute Care Experience or Training a PlusAbility to relate well with patients and other health care personnelAbility to work as a team memberEducation and ExperienceGraduated from a certified Physician Assistant or related program, which entails training as well as practice in the above-mentioned duties.Prefer previous experience providing medical care within a hospital or clinical environment.Current Indiana license to practice the duties of a Physician Assistant
