Senior Counsel - Tort Litigation

Position Overview This is a senior trial attorney position. The attorney will represent WMATA before courts and administrative agencies in various aspects of civil litigation, particularly tort actions. The attorney will prepare pleadings, motions, statements, trial benefits and be involved in settlement negotiations. Experience The ideal candidate should have a minimum of eight (8) years of civil litigation experience. Substantial first and second chair trial experience in state and federal courts in the District of Columbia and Maryland is required. Experience in state and federal court in Virginia is a plus. Experience litigating tort claims preferred. Location/Relocation Washington, D.C. in a hybrid work environment of four days a week. No relocations. Local candidates only.
