Experienced Registered Nurse (RN)

Arnold Palmer Hospital is currently seeking for an Experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Unit. The Registered Nurse administers patient care in an area in a hospital or inpatient setting where patients have an advanced illness or injury that routinely requires timely, intense, and complex care to stabilize and support the patient's medical condition. These areas require a lower caregiver-to-patient ratio and highly trained team members with advanced skills.

The Pediatric Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (PCICU) is a 20 bed inpatient Cardiovascular Critical Care Unit that provides family-centered, comprehensive intensive care medicine to the adult and pediatric cardiac patient populations. Services are provided 24 hours a day and 7 days a week by Physicians, Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, Registered Nurses, and Nursing Assistants.

Responsibilities include demonstrating critical knowledge, skills, and judgment to care for patients requiring complex assessment and therapies, high intensity interventions, and high-level continuous nursing vigilance. The RN will monitor and adjust specialized equipment used on patients, respond to life-saving situations, and communicate and collaborate with medical staff and interdisciplinary teams.

Qualifications include a graduate of an approved school of nursing, current licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Florida or Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC), current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification, and at least two (2) years of experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute care setting.
