Description

American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for a Level I Trauma Surgical ICU position requiring PA line and trauma/surgical experience.

Details

• Work in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) of a hospital environment
• Trauma/Surgical unit focusing on traumatic injuries such as MVCs, penetrating wounds, and falls, as well as cancer surgery and liver transplant patients
• 14-week assignment on Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-7:30
• Candidates will float within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital
• Expected to work 3 of 5 Winter holidays

Requirements

• Active RN license (KY State or Compact) required at time of consideration
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS required; CCRN and TNCC preferred
• Minimum 2 years of experience in specialty required
• Level I Trauma experience required
• Pulmonary Artery (PA) line/Swan Ganz monitoring experience required
• Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, and ventilator management
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Experience in respiratory/thoracic and cardiovascular patient care
• At least 1 professional reference required for consideration
• No active license disciplinary hits accepted for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to trauma and surgical ICU patients, including those with traumatic injuries, cancer surgery, and liver transplant needs
• Local candidates residing within 100 miles of the facility are not accepted for this position
• Returning permanent staff must be separated from all affiliated facilities for 6 months before returning as a traveler
• All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed at the time of consideration; requests made after an offer will not be approved
• First-time travelers may be considered for this position
