CNC MACHINIST AND CNC PROGRAMMER

Job Description CNC Machinist & CNC Programmer Ohio Steel Fabrication Shop is seeking an experienced CNC machinist. Job Responsibilities Independent set‑up and operation of CNC equipment, making routine steel structure related setups. Read and correctly interpret customer or shop drawings. Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and corresponding measuring tools. Loading of work fixtures, cutting tools, and programs into machines. Analyzing simple and complex programs; adjusting speeds, feeds, and types of tooling, as required, to maintain quality part finishes and efficient production. Adjust positions of tools in relation to the workpiece to assure clearance between moving parts and machining of specified dimensions and tolerances. Work and communicate well with management and co‑workers. Must be able to work independently, without constant supervision. Keep work area clean and organized. Ability to stay on task. Job requires periodic standing, lifting, and use of cranes & forklifts. Full‑time 40‑hour work week, with overtime as needed. Qualifications / Skills Minimum 3–5 years CNC machining with set‑up experience, or trade school/manufacturing program equivalent. Proficient in the use of common hand tools for a fabrication shop and in the use of fixtures. Ability to read and correctly interpret customer drawings, sketches and follow verbal instructions. Ability to thoroughly and accurately complete job traveler paperwork. High level of proficiency with set‑up and operation of CNC equipment. Good math skills and analytical abilities. Manual dexterity and an eye for detail. Positive attitude. Ability to stay on task. Keep work area clean and organized.
