Speech Language Pathologist

Job Summary As our Speech Language Pathologist, you will be a vital clinician, expertly assessing, diagnosing, and treating communication and swallowing disorders to significantly improve patient quality of life. Every day, you will conduct comprehensive evaluations for all referred patients, meticulously implementing individualized treatment plans. You'll contribute clinical expertise to develop or upgrade treatment programs and actively shape departmental and organizational goals. To be successful in this role, you will possess advanced clinical knowledge, exceptional diagnostic and therapeutic skills, and a compassionate, patient-centered approach. Responsibilities Evaluates, plans, and implements communication and swallow treatment programs according to physician referral and/or plan of care. Designs programs to meet patients’ oral motor/swallowing, speech/language, and cognitive needs. Applies advanced knowledge of new treatment philosophies, techniques, changes in practice act or industry regulations. Plans and organizes work systematically to enhance patient care and departmental outcomes and achieve established productivity standards. Promotes and supports positive and professional customer service while interacting with clients, guests, and hospital personnel. Works collaboratively with all interdisciplinary team members and other departments to assure patients and customer needs are met timely. Encourages active participation of the patient and/or family in goal setting and training. Provides positive and constructive feedback to enhance departmental operations. Completes all necessary documentation as outlined by departmental policy: patient care charting, charge entry, peer chart reviews, and daily schedule documentation. Utilizes information management systems to support departmental and hospital goals, including hospital-wide e‑mail, information announcements, policies, annual computer jobs, and charge entry. Job Requirements Master’s degree in Speech and Language Pathology, upon hire. State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist (TX), upon hire. Basic Life Support – CPR, completed within 14 days of hire. Where You’ll Work St. Luke’s Health–Sugar Land Hospital is a 100‑bed facility serving residents of Fort Bend County and Southwest Houston.
