About the Position

Physical Therapist Assistant

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days | Expected 40 hours/week | Minimum 2 closing shifts per week until 7:00 PM

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement treatment goals, plans, and programs as established by the supervising Physical Therapist, including posture training, strengthening exercise, endurance/cardiac training, balance and coordination exercises, joint mobility, muscle lengthening, pain relief, and functional skills training.
  • Train patients in locomotion using orthotics, prosthetics, and assistive devices such as canes, crutches, walkers, and wheelchairs; demonstrate proper guarding techniques and safety awareness.
  • Administer and demonstrate therapeutic modalities including ultrasound, iontophoresis, hot/cold packs, whirlpools, paraffin bath, fluidotherapy, TENS, and therapeutic pool.
  • Monitor patient response to treatment and intervene as necessary; document patient progress, response to treatment, and patient/family education in accordance with clinic standards.
  • Maintain a safe treatment environment by adhering to infection control guidelines, safe patient handling practices, and proper equipment usage; report malfunctioning or missing equipment promptly.
  • Participate in team conferences, collaborate with other healthcare disciplines, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives as requested.

Required Qualifications

  • Active Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license or eligibility to practice in the state of Ohio
  • Orthopedic (ORTHO) experience or focus area
  • Ability to commit to a contract assignment of 13–26 weeks
  • Compliance with all clinic policies, procedures, safety regulations, and infection control guidelines

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • New graduates are welcome to apply
  • Experience with a broad range of therapeutic modalities and assistive devices
  • Strong patient and family education skills, including instruction in body mechanics and home exercise programs
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary healthcare team
