Tech - MLT/Medical Technologist/Clinical Lab Scientist

Job Summary:
Performs a wide range of clinical laboratory tests on various biological specimens, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and adherence to safety protocols. Reviews and reports results, supervises laboratory staff, and maintains quality standards in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Conducts laboratory testing across multiple disciplines including chemistry, hematology, microbiology, and blood bank.
• Prepares, labels, handles, and preserves specimens according to established procedures.
• Evaluates test results for accuracy, consistency, and clinical relevance, correlating findings with diagnoses.
• Documents and communicates test outcomes, prioritizing STAT and critical values for prompt review.
• Trains and supervises laboratory assistants, trainees, and clerks to ensure operational efficiency.
• Maintains compliance with HIPAA, safety regulations, and quality assurance protocols.

Qualifications:

• Hold a Bachelor’s Degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, biological or chemical sciences, or allied health technology.
• Possess a valid Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) license in California.
• Maintain current certification from ASCP or NCA.
• Have at least two years of recent clinical laboratory experience in a similar setting.
• Be current in BLS certification and hold an active nursing license if required for specialized functions.
• Proven proficiency with EPIC laboratory information systems.
