This position involves working 3 shifts per week. The nurse will be responsible for caring for pediatric patients in an emergency room environment. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:3. Must be capable of performing various special procedures including IV placement, sutures, and catheter management. Experience with breathing treatments, chest tube care, and CPAP/BiPAP is essential. Applicants should be familiar with procedure sedation and rapid sequence intubation drugs. Proficiency in trach care and management of ventilators, including high-frequency vents and oscillators, is necessary. Knowledge of blood product administration, cardioversion, and 12 lead EKG interpretation is required. Experience with drains, feeding tubes, and PICC/central line care is preferred. The position does not involve any on-call requirements and has weekend obligations every other week.
