School Nurse

Support student success as a dedicated registered nurse in a rewarding school-based contract role. Your expertise and compassion will help ensure a safe and nurturing environment for a student requiring 1:1 clinical care during the school day. This position does not involve accompanying the student on the bus, as a separate nurse is assigned for transportation. In-class responsibilities, direct student support, and occasional building coverage offer variety and impact throughout the contract.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Current and valid RN license
• Certification in school nursing or related pediatric discipline preferred
• Demonstrated experience with 1:1 nursing, especially within classroom or educational environments
• Proficiency with suctioning and tube feeding required
• Strong documentation and communication skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively with school staff, students, and families

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide continuous 1:1 care for a designated student in the classroom
• Administer and monitor required medical interventions such as suctioning and tube feeding
• Maintain accurate health records and timely documentation of all interventions
• Coordinate with the classroom team to address student health needs and promote participation in school activities
• Serve as additional support within the classroom and, when the student is absent, provide coverage for the wider school building as needed
• Communicate clearly with parents, medical professionals, and school personnel
