Lube TechnicianFLSA Status: Non-ExemptJob Status: Full Time or Part TimeLocation: SiteReports To: Lube ManagerEffective Date: 6/1/2025Position OverviewThe Lube Technician is a customer-facing, hands-on team member responsible for performing oil changes, fluid checks, and other basic vehicle maintenance services at Spotless Brands lube centers. This role is critical to deliver quick, quality service and ensure every customer leaves with confidence in their vehicle's care.Lube Technicians work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and are expected to follow all safety and operational procedures. They are also trained to communicate service needs, educate customers on preventative maintenance, and help ensure the overall success of the location through cleanliness, professionalism, and reliable performance.Essential Functions (Other Duties as Assigned)Perform oil and filter changes on a wide variety of vehiclesCheck and top off vehicle fluids (e.g., coolant, windshield washer, brake, transmission, etc... )Inspect and replace basic components such as air filters, wiper blades, and cabin filtersProperly use vehicle lift systems, tools, and safety equipmentFollow standard operating procedures for vehicle inspections and maintenance tasksMaintain accurate service documentation and checklist logsCommunicate with customers to explain finds and recommend services in a clear and respectful mannerClean and maintain the lube bay area, tools, and equipment to company standardsParticipates in shop maintenance duties such as pit cleaning, fluid spill cleanup, and disposal of used materials to uphold safety and cleanliness standardsPerforms duties as assigned, including operational and cleaning tasks that support site, shop, or store upkeepComply with all Spotless Brands policies, procedures, and safety protocolsSupport teammates and contribute to a positive, efficient team environmentOther duties as assigned to support needs of the businessEducation and ExperienceHigh School Diploma or equivalent preferred, not requiredPrior experience in lube services, auto maintenance, or quick oil change environments is a plus but not requiredMust be at least 16 years of age (or older where required by law or safety regulations)Valid driver's license preferred (may be required depending on location and responsibilities)Must be able to complete the required training and safety certificationsMust be able to successfully pass a background check in accordance with company policies and applicable lawsKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesKnowledgeBasic understanding of automotive systems and routine vehicle maintenanceKnowledge of fluid types, filters, and manufacturer maintenance intervalsFamiliarity with automotive tools and lift safetySkillsStrong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions preciselyEffective communication skills and interacting with customers and team membersBasic math and recordkeeping skills for service tickets and checklistsTime management in fast-paced environmentsAbilitiesAbility to learn quickly and apply knowledge on the jobComfort working with vehicles and machinery in a physically active roleCapable of multitasking while maintaining a focus on safety and qualityTeam-oriented with a positive, customer-first attitudePhysical RequirementsAbility to walk, stand, and move, often uneven, moving and/ or wet surfaces through siteAbility to stoop, crouch, bend frequently, and constantly using fingers, hands, and arms including occasional ascending and descending a ladderAbility to twist, carry, reach, push, and pull frequentlyAbility to lift and carry 50 pounds without assistance for work-related materialsAbility to work outdoors and be efficient in all weather conditionsAbility to work on your feet in a fast-paced, physically active environmentMust be able to work in an environment with varying noise levels, including loud sounds from machinery, tools, or high-traffic areasUse of personal protective equipment (gloves, eyewear, etc... ) as requiredFlexibility to work non-traditional hours, including evenings and weekends, as business needs or emergencies ariseThis job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee(s) in this position.
