MDS Assistant

MDS Assistant Job Summary Scenic Wellness Nursing & Rehabilitation is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented MDS Assistant to join our team in Herculaneum, MO. As a vital member of our team, you will assist the Director of Nursing and the RN Assessment Coordinator in ensuring that our documentation meets Federal, State, and Certification guidelines. Principal Responsibilities Assist the center in assuring adherence to Federal and State regulations and certification Actively participate in the regulatory or certification survey process and the correction of deficiencies Report trends from completed audits to the Quality Assurance Committee Assist in the completion of the RAI Process from the MDS through the interdisciplinary completion of the plan of care Initiate and monitor RAI process tracking, discharge/reentry, and Medicaid tracking forms through the PointClickCare system Follow up with staff when necessary to assure compliance to standards of documentation Complete patient assessments, data collection, and interviews with staff as necessary to assure good standard of practice Facilitate accurate determination of the Assessment Reference Date that accurately reflects the patient's care needs Ensure timely submission of the MDSs to the State with proper follow-up on validation errors Maintain validation records from the submission process in a systematic and orderly fashion Qualifications Graduate of an approved Registered Nurse/Licensed Vocational Nurse program and licensed in the state of practice required Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility preferred Excellent knowledge of Case-Mix, the Federal Medicare PPS process, and Medicaid reimbursement Through understanding of the Quality Indicator process Knowledge of OBRA regulations and Minimum Data Set Knowledge of the care planning process Join our Team If you are a motivated and detail-oriented professional with a passion for providing exceptional care, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.
