Die Cast Machine Operator

Location: Grandville, MI
Shift:2nd Shift
Pay: $17.50 + Based on Exp 

Job Summary

The Die Cast Machine Operator is responsible for operating aluminum and zinc high-pressure die casting equipment, producing quality castings, maintaining production standards, and ensuring all safety and quality requirements are met. This position offers opportunities for advancement into technical and process-related roles for individuals who demonstrate strong mechanical aptitude and a commitment to continuous improvement.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Die Cast Machine Operator, your core responsibilities will include:

• Operate manual and automated die casting equipment to produce quality parts safely and efficiently.
• Monitor production, inspect parts for quality standards, and maintain required cycle times.
• Load, unload, trim, and process castings according to work instructions.
• Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and assist with machine setups, die changes, and tooling activities.
• Record production data, downtime, and corrective actions.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and support 5S and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with technicians, team leaders, and supervisors to achieve production goals.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

In addition, you will also be expected to follow all safety procedures, including PPE and lockout/tagout (LOTO) requirements.

What We're Looking For

To be successful in this role, you should have the following:

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
• Mechanical aptitude with basic troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team environment.
• Manufacturing, machine operation, or die casting experience preferred.
• Familiarity with quality inspections and production standards.
• Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with exposure to heat, noise, and industrial equipment.
