Description

American Traveler is hiring a CT Technologist for a 12-week acute care assignment in Texas, requiring 2+ years of CT experience, ARRT (CT) certification, and the ability to perform IV starts and rotate call.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting within a Radiology/CT department at a Level III Trauma Center
• Department operates 3 GE scanners: one 16-slice and two 64-slice units
• PACS system: Fuji; EMR: MEDITECH (experience preferred)
• Studies include CT with and without contrast for both ER and inpatient populations
• Average of 16–24 scans per day
• Radiologist on-site during daytime hours; virtual coverage at night with ER physician available for emergencies
• 12-hour shifts, noon to midnight (1200–0000), every other weekend required
• On-call rotation approximately every 6th week: weekday call runs 5:00 PM–6:00 AM, with weekend call extending through Saturday 7:00 AM–7:00 AM and Sunday 7:00 AM–6:00 AM; 30-minute response time required
• Float between two campuses approximately 16 minutes apart as needed

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of CT Technologist experience, including ER and inpatient settings
• Active ARRT (CT) certification required; pending certifications not accepted
• Active BLS certification required
• Texas MRT license required (license required if applicable); must be active — pending licenses not accepted
• IV insertion proficiency required
• 2 professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, both including dates of employment and rehire eligibility
• Valid driver's license required

Additional Information

• Perform CT imaging studies with and without contrast for emergency and inpatient populations
• May be asked to precept other staff as needed
• Call-outs are strongly discouraged
• Holidays covered on a rotating basis with permanent staff
• Black scrubs required; not provided by the facility
• Department-specific orientation provided (12 hours)
• Candidates who have been directly employed full-time, part-time, or PRN by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility within the past year are not eligible; candidates previously employed PRN through outside staffing firms will be considered
