Work Shift Day (United States of America) Job Summary The RN Oncology Infusion Therapy Clinician functions under the direction of the Manager Infusion Therapy or other designated leader. The clinician demonstrates knowledge, competency, and clinical expertise in oncology infusion therapy, including hazardous drug therapies for treating malignant and nonmalignant conditions. The RN will regularly administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, antineoplastic agents, hazardous drugs, and targeted therapies, primarily in an outpatient infusion center. Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions Perform the nursing process using evidence-based practice and individualized care planning. Provide culturally aware, patient- and family-centered care, addressing biological, emotional, developmental, psychosocial, and educational needs. Engage patients and significant others through appropriate teaching and goal-setting methods. Practice current clinical standards for chemotherapy and targeted therapies. Maintain annual chemotherapy competence requirements. Coordinate safe patient care delivery and documentation, promoting inclusive communication. Participate in performance improvement activities and inclusive governance. Complete all educational and competency assessments, and maintain specialty oncology certification or continuing education credits. Promote evidence-based practice, nursing research, and performance improvement, including value analysis and data collection. Participate in protocol and procedure development to achieve best practice outcomes. Perform other duties as assigned, and comply with Wellstar policies and code of conduct. Required Minimum Education Associate’s degree in Nursing, Nursing Diploma, or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (preferred) Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s) Registered Nurse (RN) with a single state license or RN‑Compact for multi‑state compact BLS or ARC‑BLS or BLS‑I Additional License(s) and Certification(s) Chemotherapy competency required through an approved provider (Oncology Nursing Society or WellStar Oncology Nursing Readiness and Safety). Required Minimum Experience Minimum 2 years direct patient care in a clinical field Minimum 2 years outpatient oncology nursing experience (preferred) Chemotherapy competency (preferred) Required Minimum Skills Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English Strong interpersonal, collaboration, and customer service skills Coordination of patient care activities across departments Delegation skills per Georgia Registered Professional Nurse Practice Act Ability to multitask, function under stress, and manage time effectively Strong detail orientation and nursing skillset Computer skills including typing, scanning, and use of devices Knowledge of hazardous drug handling per USP guidelines Local travel is required. Float staff will be required to float between Cobb Hospital and HOD locations based on need. All sites are within 35 miles of Cobb Hospital. #J-18808-Ljbffr WellStar Health System
