Opportunity Overview

Our organization is in search of a full-time OB hospitalist physician to become part of a collaborative team dedicated to delivering compassionate, evidence-based care to both high-risk patients and those from community clinics. The full-time equivalent (FTE) can be adjusted between 0.5 and 1.0.

This facility is affiliated with a prominent medical center in the East Bay, recognized as the largest private nonprofit institution in the area. The hospital is known for its significant contribution to the community, delivering around 5,000 babies annually and serving as a referral center for high-risk obstetric cases. Key features of the hospital include:

• 24 Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) rooms
• 3 operating rooms dedicated to labor and delivery
• An 8-bed OB triage unit
• A 14-bed Antepartum Unit with maternal-fetal medicine co-management
• A 55-bed Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) staffed by in-house neonatologists

Advanced practice nurses specializing in newborn evaluation and resuscitation are present at deliveries, alongside two in-house OB anesthesiologists. The facility utilizes a comprehensive electronic medical record system and offers remote fetal heart rate monitoring.

The position entails:

• Attending deliveries
• Managing OB triage
• Conducting patient evaluations and management
• Assisting in surgical and OB deliveries
• Monitoring fetal health
• Providing emergency department coverage for obstetric patients

This role involves close collaboration with an on-site midwife and local obstetricians who deliver at the hospital. There are two hospitalists available on-site 24/7, along with one midwife, and a backup hospitalist is also accessible.

Qualifications

• A valid and unrestricted California medical license
• A current DEA license

We offer a competitive compensation package with an income guarantee. The stated range reflects the base salary for full-time clinicians (1.0 FTE) and does not encompass incentives or benefits. The base salary may be adjusted based on factors such as training, experience, community needs, and other relevant criteria.
