SUMMARY

We are looking for someone to join our team as a Patient Care Technician at Andrews Institute ASC. We’re seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Patient Care Technician to support our clinical staff and ensure a safe, comfortable environment for our patients before and after surgery.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Uphold patients’ rights to privacy, dignity, and confidentiality at all times.

• Assist with pre-operative and post-operative care, including escorting patients, obtaining vital signs, and helping with gowning and dressing.

• Perform clinical tasks under RN supervision:

  • Measure height, weight, BMI

  • Conduct urine pregnancy tests as applicable

  • Obtain vital signs, blood sugar, and EKGs

  • Shave surgical areas as ordered

• Clean and sanitize stretchers and equipment between patients per policy.

• Maintain knowledge of equipment, supplies, and facility layout.

• Assist patients with bathroom needs and provide snacks/drinks post-op.

• Support discharge process, including transport and paperwork.

• Answer phones and check email regularly to ensure smooth communication.

• Maintain a calm, professional demeanor and adhere to dress code.

• Perform additional duties as directed by clinical leadership.

PREFERRED SKILLS

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

• Current BLS certification (required)

• Previous experience in a surgical or outpatient setting preferred.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

• Ability to multitask and remain composed in a fast-paced environment.
