Material Handler I - 1st Shift

Shift Details Shift: First Shift Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (Overtime as necessary) Compensation: $19.50/HR Location: Frederick, MD 6433 Job Description As part of the Thermo Fisher Scientific team, you’ll discover meaningful work that makes a positive impact on a global scale. You will receive, pick, pack, and ship materials to ensure accurate and timely delivery to customers. Responsibilities Pick, pack, sort, arrange, count, store, and process items for storage and/or shipment according to established procedures and customer requirements. Maintain a high level of quality to ensure accurate and timely order fulfillment. Verify materials received for accuracy, including type, quantity, and documentation (e.g., packing lists). Safely operate distribution equipment as required. Keys to Success Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience: No previous work experience required. Preferred experience in distribution, warehouse, supply chain, or related field. Preferred experience with powered industrial trucks (order pickers/forklifts). Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Strong attention to detail. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Problem‑solving skills and ability to work efficiently. Ability to read and write in English. Physical Requirements / Work Environment Warehouse environment with varying temperatures: room temperature (59–86°F), cold‑room (36–46°F), and freezer‑room (-4 to 23°F). Ability to walk, stand, reach, push, pull, and lift up to 40 lbs continuously. Regularly climb ladders. May occasionally sit, kneel, crouch, and crawl. May handle packaged hazardous materials. This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
