Estate Planning Attorney

We are seeking an experienced Senior Estate Planning Attorney to join our legal team in Charlotte, NC. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience advising high-net-worth individuals and families on sophisticated estate planning, wealth preservation, trust planning, and estate administration matters. The Senior Estate Planning Attorney will independently manage client relationships and matters from the initial consultation through strategy development, document drafting, execution, and ongoing estate plan reviews. This position requires strong technical knowledge, excellent client communication skills, sound legal judgment, and the ability to handle complex and sensitive matters with a high degree of independence. Key Responsibilities Provide sophisticated legal counsel on estate planning, wealth preservation, asset protection, and succession planning . Develop and implement customized estate plans based on clients' financial circumstances, family dynamics, business interests, and long-term objectives. Draft, review, and revise wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, powers of attorney, healthcare directives, living wills, and other estate planning documents . Advise clients on complex trust structures, tax-efficient planning strategies, asset protection, and intergenerational wealth transfer. Handle estate and probate administration matters , including guiding executors, trustees, beneficiaries, and families through the administration process. Develop sophisticated planning strategies for high-net-worth clients, blended families, business owners, and clients with complex assets . Advise on special needs planning, elder law, charitable planning, and other specialized estate planning matters . Required Qualifications Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school. Active license and good standing with the North Carolina State Bar. Relevant legal experience , with substantial experience in estate planning, trusts, estate administration, or a closely related practice area. Demonstrated experience independently managing estate planning matters and client relationships. Strong hands-on experience drafting and reviewing wills, trusts, powers of attorney, healthcare directives, and other estate planning documents . Experience handling estate and probate administration matters. Preferred Qualifications Experience representing high-net-worth individuals and families . Experience with complex and sophisticated trust structures. Background in asset protection, wealth transfer, business succession, or tax-oriented estate planning .
