Responsibilities Live our purpose by managing and improving patient health through safe dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices. Oversee the pharmacy team during bench shifts, strengthening performance through coaching and consistent follow‑up. Support safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by directing the team to follow workflow procedures and safety guardrails at every workstation. Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy, collaborating with the patient's health team, and proactively resolving insurance or medication issues. Offer and deliver immunizations, engaging and supporting Pharmacy Technicians to learn to immunize. Manage pharmacy inventory, focusing on protecting cold‑chain products and following inventory best practices. Conduct new Technician and Pharmacist onboarding, ensuring trainees complete required training and licensure. Maintain pharmacy compliance with state Board of Pharmacy regulations, escalating issues to the Rx DL when needed. Partner with the Store Manager to build a talent pipeline of cross‑trained colleagues and oversee their training for licensure. Oversee Staff Pharmacists and District Support Pharmacists (when applicable), managing performance through observation, feedback, and validations; deliver annual performance reviews. Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs while fostering a safe, inclusive, and engaging team dynamic. Review business reporting for operational insights and develop action plans to close gaps. Establish a culture of safety, empowerment, and inclusion, building psychological safety through open feedback. Maintain relevant clinical and technical skills, seeking opportunities for continuous learning and support to patients. Deliver pharmacist‑delivered clinical care (e.g., COVID/Flu, Hormonal Contraception) to improve patient outcomes and empower the team. Comply with all federal and state laws, regulations, professional standards, and CVS Health policies to support patient safety and a protected workplace. Required Qualifications Active Pharmacist License in the state where the store is located. Active National Provider Identifier (NPI). Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list. 1–2 years of experience as a Pharmacist. Essential Functions Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends. Ability to complete required training within designated timeframes. Attention and Focus: Concentrate on tasks over time and pivot quickly to meet patient and business needs. Confirm prescription information and label accuracy to ensure patient safety. Customer Service and Team Orientation: Actively look for ways to help people in a friendly manner. Notice and understand patients' reactions, responding appropriately. Communication Skills: Use verbal and written communication to interact with patients and colleagues. Utilize active listening, giving full attention and asking appropriate questions. Mathematical Reasoning: Use math to solve problems, such as calculating total tablets to dispense or determining each bottle needed. Problem Resolution: Identify challenging interactions and choose the best course of action among options. Physical Demands: Be mobile and remain upright for extended periods, lift, scan, bag items, reach overhead, and perform repetitive finger tasks. Handle visual acuity demands, including transcribing, reading, and inspecting small parts. Occasional lifting up to 20 lbs.; frequent lifting up to 10 lbs.; minimal force for repetitive tasks. Communicate detailed information verbally and receive detailed information orally. Team Management and Leadership: Lead by example, delegate tasks, empower members, and foster collaboration. Motivate team members to achieve high performance and adhere to standards. Apply problem‑solving skills to address challenges and find innovative solutions. Adapt to changing circumstances, taking ownership and accountability. Coach, reinforce, encourage, provide feedback, discipline, or terminate team members as needed. Any additional tasks as directed by Supervisor or Manager. Preferred Qualifications Completion of the CVS Pharmacy Manager Emerging Leader (PM‑EL) program. 3–5 years of related experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting. Ability to work in the home store and at other market locations as needed. Pay Range $70.00 – $91.00 (hourly/annual) – the actual base salary depends on experience, education, geography and other factors. Eligible for bonus, commission or short‑term incentive programs.
