Your role as a Primary Care Physician will directly contribute to this mission and create a lasting difference in the Chico community.

In your capacity as a Primary Care Physician, you will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team that includes other physicians, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, and support personnel. Together, you will provide comprehensive and coordinated care to veterans. Proficiency in computer skills is crucial, as our organization employs a fully computerized system for documentation, order entry, and consultation requests.

• Primary Care: Clinical responsibilities will account for approximately 80-100% of your work time.
• Teaching: You may engage in teaching responsibilities for residents and medical students, which could take up to 20% of your time, as assigned.

• Manage care for a designated panel of outpatients as assigned.
• Assess and treat both acute and chronic health issues for scheduled and walk-in patients.
• Conduct thorough histories and physical examinations.
• Document all relevant information, including history, examination findings, diagnosis, care plans, and patient outcomes.
• Ensure proper closure of patient visits, including documentation of follow-up steps, updated medication lists, and appointment schedules.
• Perform office procedures within your approved privileges.
• Prescribe medications and provide counseling as necessary.
• Order and interpret routine lab, radiological, and diagnostic tests; communicate results to patients.
• Initiate and expedite requests for consultations and special tests as required.
• Screen patients to assess the need for hospitalization.
• Act as a mentor and preceptor for residents and medical students in the clinic.

• Salary: Ranges from $230,000 to $324,000 annually.
