Title: R&D Hardware Test Technician
Location: Durham, NC 27703
Pay: $35–$40/hr on W2
Job Summary:
We are seeking an R&D Hardware Test Technician to support the development, testing, troubleshooting, and improvement of pharmacy automation equipment and electro-mechanical systems in an R&D environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Configure and test machines, prototypes, and electro-mechanical systems.
- Perform physical, chemical, and mechanical testing according to test plans.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues and perform failure analysis.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical documents.
- Build and modify prototypes, PCB assemblies, wiring harnesses, and test systems.
- Collect, analyze, and document test data and prepare test reports.
- Perform electrical soldering and use mechanical/machine shop tools.
- Maintain test equipment, lab inventory, software, and workspace.
- Follow 5S, safety, and quality procedures.
Requirements:
- 2-year technical degree or equivalent experience; Bachelor's preferred.
- 5+ years of relevant equipment, testing, reliability, or lab experience.
- Strong mechanical and electro-mechanical troubleshooting skills.
- Experience reading electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
- Strong documentation and attention to detail.
- Computer configuration and system deployment experience.
- Good Excel skills.
- Ability to lift up to 45 lbs.
Preferred Skills:
SolidWorks, Creo/ProE, soldering, PCB assemblies, LabVIEW, Minitab, reliability testing, and CAD.
