Tech - Cath Lab/EP

Job Description

Job Summary:

The Cath Lab/EP Technologist is responsible for supporting diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures within a Level II Trauma environment. The role involves operating specialized equipment, maintaining sterile conditions, and ensuring patient safety throughout procedures.

Responsibilities:

Operate and troubleshoot imaging and procedural equipment during cardiac catheterizations and electrophysiology studies.
Prepare and maintain sterile fields, ensuring adherences to aseptic techniques.
Assist physicians with invasive procedures, monitoring patient status and documenting procedures accurately.
Ensure proper inventory management using electronic systems such as Epic and Pyxis.
Adhere to hospital protocols regarding radiation safety, infection control, and patient care during shifts.
Respond to emergency situations promptly, supporting trauma and cardiac interventions as needed.

Qualifications:

Hold a minimum of 2 years of experience in a diagnostic and interventional Cardiac Cath Lab; trauma level II experience preferred.
Possess BLS, ACLS, CCI RCIS certifications; applicable state licensure required.
Demonstrate proficiency with electronic medical records (Epic), Pyxis medication systems, and SBAR communication.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team, maintaining professionalism and clinical competence.
Flexibility to float within the facility and work every other weekend, holidays, and on-call shifts.
Excellent understanding of cardiac procedures, radiation safety, and sterile techniques.
