Senior Product Development EngineerAs a Senior Product Development Engineer, you will be responsible for the complete product life cycle of products for the Aerospace and Defense Industries. Vaupell is looking for a person that will embody the key pillars of the Product Innovation Group: Sustainability, Efficiency and Innovation; to create a "leap" in value of products for our customers. The Senior Product Development Engineer is a key role in the design and development process of products that will redefine the future of the aerospace industry. Aerospace interiors experience requiredResponsibilities:Develops, integrates, and documents design requirements to establish part/system design.Designs, analyzes and maintains component and system designs, using CAD tools and/or other design methods, throughout the product lifecycle.Applies design/analysis processes and tools to improve the effectiveness, quality and efficiency of the development effort.Performs feasibility (prototype), functional and qualification testing for component and / or system designs.Investigates emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements.Transforms initial rough product designs using computer aided design (CAD) into working models and documents.Lead technical reviews including drawing and designs to ensure adherence to established specifications and standards.Designs new products proprietary to Vaupell.Job Qualifications/Requirements:Bachelor of Science degree in an Engineering discipline required7+ years' experience as a Product Development Engineer or similar roleAerospace interiors experience requiredPreferred Floor to Floor aerospace cabin design experienceExperience managing complete product life cycle from SOW creation through project gate reviews, qualification (DO-160), FAA certification and delivery of product.Knowledge of CATIA or similar CAD software requiredTravel up to 15% may be required.Environmental ConditionWhile performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and may occasionally be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, and vibration.
