Job Title National BRT & Multimodal Design Lead Location United States – Nationwide (Hybrid work options may be considered) Employment Type Regular – Full time Key Responsibilities Lead the technical delivery of full‑corridor BRT and multimodal design projects, guiding the team from concept through final design. Direct design of center‑running and curbside BRT stations, ensuring seamless integration with civil, traffic, ITS, and urban design disciplines. Oversee coordination for transit signal priority and collaborate closely with ITS and signal engineering teams. Deliver corridor designs through final design (PS&E), producing high‑quality plans, specifications, estimates, and defensible design decisions. Create and maintain standardized design approaches for BRT and Complete Streets programs, including typical sections, standard details, corridor templates, and technical playbooks. Develop and lead QA/QC review processes, applying enterprise‑level design review across multiple programs. Produce and defend design exceptions and deviations for constrained urban corridors, ensuring decisions are well‑documented and technically justified. Integrate Complete Streets principles—bike facilities, pedestrian safety, ADA considerations, and multimodal safety enhancements—into all corridor designs. Use Civil 3D corridor modeling to create accurate, optimized, and visually compelling design models. Leverage 3D visualization, traffic simulation tools, and data‑driven decision support systems to evaluate transit priority scenarios and communicate design impacts. Support and advance digital delivery workflows, helping transition teams toward model‑based design methodologies. Serve as the technical lead during proposal interviews, representing the vision and strategy for corridor design excellence. Contribute to Go/No‑Go decisions, capture strategies, and proposal technical narratives for major transit and multimodal pursuits. Support scope development and proposal writing for new opportunities in transit and mobility. Build and maintain strong working relationships within the transit and multimodal design community, including public agencies and corridor program partners. Mentor emerging Project Technical Leaders and corridor task leads across multiple regions. Strengthen multidisciplinary collaboration and help build national capacity in BRT and multimodal corridor design. Provide guidance on design decisions, modeling techniques, technical writing, documentation, and defensible design justification. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Civil, Transportation, or Structural Engineering or a related discipline. Professional Engineering (PE) license. 10 years of related experience (domestic and/or international). Travel up to 10% of the time, dependent on project demands. Preferred Qualifications 10+ years of progressive experience in BRT, Complete Corridors, and multimodal corridor design. Experience delivering at least one corridor project through final design (PS&E). Experience leading multi‑discipline design teams. Experience developing project design criteria, plans, specifications, and cost estimates. Experience managing design justification documentation and design exceptions. Proficiency in Civil 3D corridor modeling workflows. Strong communication and technical writing skills. Experience supporting proposal development and scope creation. Ability to mentor junior staff and oversee QA/QC reviews. Travel Domestic and/or international travel may be required; the frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties and project demands.
