Staff Accountant

Staff AccountantOur client is seeking a Staff Accountant to support core accounting operations and help ensure the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial reporting. This role will be responsible for a variety of general accounting activities, including account reconciliations, journal entries, month-end close responsibilities, and financial analysis.This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and wants to gain exposure to multiple areas of accounting and finance. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and committed to maintaining accurate financial records while supporting ongoing process improvements.What You'll DoPrepare and record journal entries and supporting documentationPerform account reconciliations and investigate variances or discrepanciesAssist with month-end and year-end close activitiesSupport financial reporting and general ledger maintenanceCollaborate with internal stakeholders to resolve accounting questions and issuesAssist with audit preparation and provide supporting documentation as neededSupport accounts receivable activities, including invoicing, payment application, and aging reviewAssist with cash reconciliation and banking-related transactionsProvide support for accounts payable and other accounting functions when neededMaintain accurate records and ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting proceduresCreate and update process documentation to support operational efficiencyContribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the accounting departmentCross-train and provide backup support for various accounting and finance functionsQualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferredExperience in general accounting, financial reporting, or related accounting functionsStrong understanding of accounting principles and financial processesExperience with account reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close activitiesProficiency with accounting systems and Microsoft ExcelStrong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skillsExcellent attention to detail and accuracyAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlinesEffective written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
