Customer Account Specialist
Founded in 1966, Durham Exchange Industries, Inc. About the Role
The Customer Account Specialist plays a key role in ensuring seamless communication between customers and internal teams. This position supports day-to-day operations by coordinating production schedules, managing customer accounts, and maintaining accurate inventory and order information. Success in this role requires strong organization, attention to detail, and the ability to balance multiple priorities in a collaborative, mission-driven environment.
What You'll Do
- Act as the primary liaison between customers, production, and warehouse teams
- Coordinate production schedules to meet customer needs and deadlines
- Manage customer inquiries (orders, status, returns, shortages, adjustments)
- Enter and track orders, ensuring accurate inventory movement and shipping
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment
- Document customer feedback and support complaint resolution (including CAPA)
- Generate reports and maintain accurate production and customer records
- Support ISO quality systems (internal auditing/document control)
- Assist with process improvements and provide team support as needed
Requirements
What You Bring
- Associate's/Bachelor's degree or 5+ years relevant experience
- Background in customer account management, inventory, or purchasing
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to prioritize, manage time, and work independently
- Detail-oriented with analytical and inventory tracking experience
Skills & Abilities
Computer Skills: Exceptional Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) skills required; comprehensive knowledge in the use of spreadsheets.
