Registered Nurse - Wound Care

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provides specialized wound and ostomy nursing care to inpatient and outpatient populations under the supervision of the medical director or hospitalist provider. Celebrates patient-centered treatment, ongoing education, and healthcare team collaboration to promote optimal healing and patient safety.

Responsibilities:

• Assess, evaluate, and perform wound care procedures, including dressing changes and debridement, in accordance with clinical standards.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized wound and ostomy care plans.
• Educate patients and families on wound, ostomy, skin, and continence management techniques to support self-care.
• Document all patient interactions, care activities, and educational efforts consistently within medical records.
• Assist with performance improvement initiatives and departmental projects as needed.
• Manage outpatient wound care clinic schedules, supplies, and ostomy patient follow-ups.

Qualifications:

• Current Maine RN license or equivalent compact license required.
• ASN required; BSN preferred.
• BLS certification current or obtained within 30 days of hire.
• 1-3 years of relevant clinical wound care experience preferred.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to multi-task effectively.
• Demonstrated teamwork and a proactive approach to patient care.
