Certified Surgical Technologist Job Description

• Pre-Surgical Preparation: Prepare operating rooms by setting up surgical instruments, equipment, and sterile drapes according to procedure requirements.
• Assisting During Surgery: Pass instruments and supplies to surgeons during procedures, ensuring a sterile environment is maintained.
• Equipment Management: Operate and maintain surgical instruments, ensuring all equipment functions properly before and during surgeries.
• Patient Safety & Sterility: Monitor and maintain strict adherence to aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety and infection control.
• Post-Surgical Duties: Assist with post-operative room clean-up and prepare instruments for sterilization and reprocessing.

Requirements

• Education: Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
• Certification: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification through NBSTSA or equivalent required.
• Experience: Previous experience in a surgical or operating room setting is preferred but not required.
• Skills: Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently under pressure. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Familiarity with surgical instruments, equipment, and procedures.
