Budtender/Reception - Part TimeThe Fire Station (TFS) operates as a series of Marijuana Establishments within the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. TFS holds valid state and municipal operating licenses and strives to exceed compliance standards at the highest level. Beginning in 2019 with less than ten employees, our business is now growing rapidly and welcomes new employees who are interested in a career in the cannabis industry. As a Marijuana Retail Establishment, our operations involve welcoming customers 21 + years of age into our establishment to view and purchase high quality marijuana products. A team of employees all work together to provide customers with top notch customer service and cannabis knowledge to aid them in their cannabis experience.Roles - Receptionists are the first point of contact for customers when they enter the facility. They greet customers, gather the required information, and grant them access into the budroom. Budtenders perform the core interaction with the customers, the salesperson of cannabis products. Budtenders and receptionists are knowledgeable about a variety of cannabis products, and can provide detailed descriptions and explanations of products to customers. Budtenders help customers find products specific to their needs and perform sales transactions, while restocking products on the sales floor as necessary.ResponsibilitiesWelcoming and greeting new customers in a thoughtful and polite mannerAnswering phone calls, responding to emailsStay updated on current available products for sale within the facility and general cannabis knowledge such as purchase limits to answer general questions from customersMust thoroughly check ID's to make all customers are of legal age, permit entrance onto the sales floorResponsible for properly completing sales transactions, recommends products to customersUtilizes the point of sale (POS) system to complete transactionsMonitors product quantities, labeling, and restocking activitiesResponsible for assisting with facility compliance by following rules and standards with inventory restocking and completing transactionsEnsure that products being sold to customers match the METRC and related tracking information associated with that product.Collecting and counting cash; identifying potential fraud cash billsResponsible for keeping the budroom display shelves and workspace clean and presentable for customers including general cleaning procedures, i.e. mopping, sweeping, vacuuming.Complete and sign required checklists for end of shift duties, including sanitation and facility upkeepOccasionally asked to train new TFS staff on policies, procedures, and job shadowingRequired Skills/AbilitiesExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExcellent customer service skillsExcellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skillsExcellent organizational skills and attention to detailStrong analytical, mathematical and problem solving skillsStrong leadership skillsAbility to prioritize tasksWorks well under pressure and deadlines, ability to multitaskMust be able to remain calm and collected in a busy retail environmentMust have excellent cash handling abilitiesTo guide customers through the customer service experience in its entirety which includes check in, sales, product selection, and checkout processAbility to bend and stand while reaching below and above counter-height for productsAbility to move frequently around the sales floor to the checkout with a customer and pack up their productsEducation & ExperienceMust have adequate cannabis product knowledgeMust have at least 1 year of experience in a retail or similar settingMust have 1 year experience using POS systemsHigh school education required, higher education preferredWork EnvironmentState & Municipal Law - TFS operates in full compliance with all rules and regulations enforced by the State of Michigan's Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA) and Cannabis Regulatory Agency (CRA). Further, TFS operates in full compliance with the rules and regulations of each municipality they are located within.
