RN SICU 3 East

About the Unit East SICU, 3 East, is a general surgery floor that typically manages general surgery patients, vascular, thoracic, and non-neuro trauma. The unit also handles transplant, high-risk obstetrics, post-partum, and ECMO patients, serving as the first unit for kidney and liver transplant cases and the sole receiving unit for ECMO patients across the hospital system. Scope of Work The RN utilizes the ANA scope of practice and nursing process frameworks to provide professional, patient-family centered care. Responsibilities include assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, discharge coordination, teaching, documentation, and collaboration with the Nurse Leader and adherence to Corewell Health policies. Qualifications Associate degree in Nursing (RN) Bachelor’s degree in Nursing within 5 years Graduates from a non-accredited nursing school: at least 1 year of acute care experience or 2 years in a licensed healthcare role and successful NCLEX completion Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) license AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) certification AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification within 6 months Specialty certification highly recommended within 2 years Benefits Comprehensive benefits package including health, financial, and work/life balance resources.
