Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Location: Hackensack, NJ

Pay Rate: $50–$55/hr ( Depending on Experience )

Job Type: 34-Week Contract

Shift: Night Shift (3x12 Hours) | 06:45 PM – 07:15 AM

Job Summary

The Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) provides respiratory care services to patients across critical care and inpatient settings. Responsibilities include ventilator management, respiratory treatments, airway support, patient assessments, and collaboration with interdisciplinary healthcare teams. The ideal candidate will have ICU experience, strong critical thinking skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced acute care environment.

Required Qualifications

• Active New Jersey Respiratory Care License.

• NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential.

• Current AHA BLS Certification.

• Current AHA ACLS Certification.

• Current AHA PALS Certification.

• Minimum 1 year of recent RRT experience.

• Minimum 1 year of ICU experience.

• Experience with mechanical ventilation.

• Ability to float between ICU, intermediate care, and step-down units.

• Strong critical thinking and patient care skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory therapy treatments under physician direction.

• Manage and monitor mechanical ventilators and respiratory support equipment.

• Assist with airway management and intubation procedures.

• Assess patient respiratory status and adjust care plans accordingly.

• Perform respiratory diagnostic testing and evaluations.

• Educate patients and families regarding respiratory therapies.

• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams.

• Maintain accurate patient documentation.

• Adhere to all clinical and safety standards.

• 34-Week Contract Assignment

• 36–37.5 Hours Weekly

• Every Other Weekend Required

• Holiday Rotation Required

• Floating Required Across Critical Care Units

• High-Acuity Acute Care Environment
