Job Summary: Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) Wausau, Wisconsin
An Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) will provide fast-paced patient care within a Trauma Level II unit, supporting a wide range of clinical needs including stroke-certified services, cardiac, neuro, pediatrics, geriatrics, and respiratory cases. The role includes delivering emergency nursing care, managing assigned patients efficiently, and utilizing electronic documentation systems. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Rotating 12-hour variable shifts; majority of shifts fall between 05:00-17:00, 09:00-21:00, 10:00-22:00, and 11:00-23:00, with occasional flexibility to 14:00-02:00 and 17:00-05:00; minimum 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Wisconsin RN license; Basic Life Support (BLS); Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS); Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC); Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) (ARC or AHA); Associate Degree or Certificate; EPIC charting experience; 5 years of RN experience; Trauma Level II experience; at least 1 year of travel experience.
• Preferred Qualifications: Bachelors Degree.
• Float: Float rotation may be required to other locations within the region (Merrill, Antigo, Medford, and Stanley).
• On Call/Call Back Requirements: Call requirements of 12 hours in a 6-week period; response time of 30 minutes; call back minimum of 2 hours; can be low-censused and placed on call.
• Weekend/Holiday Requirements: Every other weekend and every other holiday.
• Additional Information: Unit is Trauma Level II and is a high-acuity, fast-paced environment. Electronic documentation uses EPIC. Pyxis medication dispensing is used. Registered Nurses draw labs, with labs performed in-house and Registered Nurses providing neb treatments; Respiratory Therapy is available in-house. X-ray staff are on-site in the emergency department.
• Start Date: 07/06/2026.
• Contract Length: 13 weeks.
